Chris Brown Detained in UK Over Nightclub Bottle Assault Allegation

Chris Brown, the well-known American singer, has been arrested in the United Kingdom for allegedly assaulting a man at a London nightclub. The arrest took place at a Manchester hotel in the early hours of May 15. Authorities suspect him of causing serious bodily harm in an incident that took place last year.

The alleged victim, music producer Abe Diaw, claims Brown attacked him with a bottle before punching and kicking him repeatedly on the ground. This attack reportedly occurred at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair, central London, on February 19, 2023. Diaw required hospitalization and used crutches during recovery.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest of a 36-year-old man suspected of grievous bodily harm but did not name Brown directly. They stated that the man was taken into custody and that detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit are leading the investigation. Brown’s representatives have not commented.

The UK tabloid The Sun reported it had discovered Brown’s arrival in the country on Wednesday and promptly notified police. Brown had flown in on a private jet, and officers followed up by traveling to Manchester. Upon confirming his presence, authorities took him into custody for questioning.

According to Diaw’s past statements, the confrontation with Brown left him with severe injuries, including a collapsed knee. He said he was kicked multiple times while defenseless and on the ground. These allegations have resurfaced now that the singer is being held in police custody and the case is gaining new attention.
